Born in China and bred by the universe, Zen’s musical story began at the age of three when she pleaded with her parents for a “real piano.” By seventeen, her solo recording was featured on ABC Classic FM (Australia), and critics calling her performances “brilliant,” “world-class,” and “groundbreaking.” Since then, Zen’s music has taken her across four continents—playing solo recitals, collaborating with top orchestras, institutions, and performing at international festivals.

Equally at home in Classical and contemporary music, Zen thrives on exploring a wide spectrum of global musical languages and traditions. Her studies in Europe, including Spain and Italy, have deeply shaped her work. Her PhD in Piano Performance (Monash University) earned recognition from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the Australian National University for her research on the connection between Spanish music traditions and Western Classical Music.

Recent highlights include the Munich Piano Festival, a concert tour and masterclasses in China, and a research performance at the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference. As a soloist, collaborative musician, coach, and jury member, Zen has worked with institutions such as the University of California, Córdoba Conservatorium of Music, Australian Opera Studio, Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond the stage, Zen is a sought-after international speaker with fresh perspectives on performance psychology, highly effective habits for musicians, learner-driven teaching, and self-growth through the power of music. She has a passion for solving complex problems in simple, transformative ways—whether in music, research, or life.

Offstage, Zen is an explorer—of music, languages, philosophy, and human stories. A curious traveller and lover of vibrant cuisines, Zen is always searching for meaningful connections.
